The Jianzi - also known as Da Cau, Chapteh and Shuttlecock - has a rich heritage dating back to 5th Century China. These brightly coloured shuttlecocks are enjoyed throughout Asia by all ages. The game can be played competitively, socially, by oneself, as exercise, or just for fun. Much like kicking a football around in the park, Jianzi rules can be made up within groups of friends which allows the game options to be endless.

Unfortunatly, in Europe (especially the UK), Jianzi is widely unknown. There are competetions across the world for Jianzi, and in Europe, the sport is governed by the Shuttlecock Federation of Europe

We are the first dedicated supplier of traditional Vietnamese Jianzi's in the UK. If you would like to make a purchase, then please head to our BUY section.

We would love to include your photos or videos in our site. If you have anything, you can either email us the photos, or send us the link to your Youtube video: info@jianzi.co.uk

Benefits:

Playing Jianzi can have a wide range of benefits. Just kicking one around for fifteen minutes can give you a healthy work out. It forms great exercise and is an aerobic workout for all ages.

For younger users in particular, Jianzi can be used as a highly succesful football skills tool. It can improve eye-foot cooridination and all round football skill by developing balance, control, volleying and passing. It also encourages use of the weaker foot. Jianzi can be played in any weather, indoors or outdoors. In Vietnam and China, you will find people of all ages playing Jianzi in parks as a sociable and enjoyable form of exercise.
